Stacked Codecs...

Bonjour, All!

With this entry, we'll discuss the topic of codecs and their possible uses. A codec, according to Microsoft.com, is a media software to which allows the user to compress or decompress digital media like songs and videos. Via compression, these madia types can easily be stored on your computer and easily transferred across the internet more smoothly. A good example is Windows Media Player, which downloads and decompresses songs and video that one finds as they browse the internet.

However, Codecs can be something of a double-edged sword, as the media does slightly downgrade in quality when compared to the original source. However, when quality is not an issue, codecs are the right tool for the job.
